Faithfulness in the Quiet Places

It’s been a while since I’ve served in church. Over the years, I’ve worked with many churches as a web developer—building websites, improving systems, helping behind the scenes. But I hadn’t been using one of the gifts that feels closest to my heart: encouragement.

About two months ago, I decided to take the steps to start serving again at the church I attend. There were a few areas I could step into, and one that stood out was the prayer ministry.

I scheduled a time to meet with the man leading the team. But that week, my mom was taken to the hospital. I had to cancel the meeting. I let him know what was going on and figured we’d reconnect later.

But then something unexpected happened.

Every few days since then, this man—whom I’ve never met—has continued to reach out. Just a message to see how my mom and I are doing. Just a reminder that someone is praying. That someone cares.

His consistency has blessed me more than I can put into words.

If you’re serving in a ministry without a platform, without recognition or applause—please don’t doubt your impact.

It matters.

Your faithfulness matters. The quiet text. The prayer no one hears. The follow-up no one sees. These things make a difference. Sometimes more than you’ll ever know.

You are watering others, and in God’s time, He will refresh you too.

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
—Proverbs 11:25
